About the Author

Will Snyder’s profound interest in learning about Northern California history has 

taken him all over the world, digging deeply into the past. 

He’s researched in our country's best libraries and 

has interviewed countless old timers. 

His unique, in-depth reference book explores both sides of the volatile relationship between the first settlers and Original Americans in the Fall River Valley, a place he’s 

called home for more than 50 years.

During his years as an elementary school teacher he recieved various awards including , 2001 Teacher of the week for KRCR in Redding, the Native American Appreciation award in 2005 and Teacher of the Year 2010 in the Fall River Joint School District.  Now retired, he is a proud father, grandfather, traveler and ukulele performer.
